Underfloor heating has one chance to be done properly. Once the screed is poured, the pipe is there for good. We set out the loops at the right spacing for each room’s heat loss, keep runs within their maximum lengths, and pressure test every circuit, leaving it under pressure while the screed goes in.
The manifold pictured runs seven zones, each labelled by room: bathroom, bedroom, hall, master bedroom, en-suite, dining room and kitchen. Each has its own actuator, so each room can have its own thermostat.
What we install
- Screeded systems for new builds and extensions
- Low-profile overlay systems for existing floors
- Manifold with pump, blending valve and flow meters per loop
- Room thermostats and wiring centre, with an electrician
- Works with gas boilers, system boilers and heat pumps
- Mixed systems: underfloor downstairs, radiators upstairs
Floor finishes
Tiles and stone transfer heat best. Engineered wood, LVT and laminate all work within the manufacturer’s temperature limits. Thick carpet and underlay slow it down, so we’ll talk it through at quote stage.
How it works
- Room by room designHeat loss for each room sets pipe spacing, loop lengths and zones.
- Insulation and pipeInsulation, edge strip and membrane, then pipe clipped in loops.
- Manifold and testManifold fitted, every loop tested and left under pressure for the screed.
- CommissionFlow rates balanced, thermostats set, system brought up to temperature slowly.

Questions about underfloor heating
Wet or electric underfloor heating?
Wet systems run warm water from your boiler or heat pump and are much cheaper to run over larger areas. Electric mats are cheaper to fit in a small bathroom but cost more to run. We install wet systems.
Can it run off my existing boiler?
Usually, yes. A pump and blending valve at the manifold bring the water down to the lower temperature underfloor heating needs. We check the boiler has the output first.
Does every room get its own thermostat?
Yes. Each room is a separate zone with its own actuator, so it can have its own thermostat.
