Plumbing emergencies in Wetherby don’t wait for office hours. A pipe splits in the loft during a cold snap, a shower tray seal gives way and water comes through the kitchen ceiling, or the boiler locks out on a Sunday night with a house full of people. Ring 01937 387309 and you’ll speak to a plumber who can tell you what to do right now and when we can be with you.
We cover Wetherby and the villages around it, including Boston Spa, Collingham, Bramham, Thorp Arch, Clifford, Linton and Spofforth. We’ll give you an honest arrival time on the phone rather than a promise we can’t keep, and we tell you the call-out price before we set off.
What to do while you wait
- Turn the water off. The internal stopcock is usually under the kitchen sink. Turn it clockwise until it stops. In older Wetherby properties it can be in a cellar or under the stairs.
- Keep water away from electrics. If water is near lights or sockets, switch that circuit off at the consumer unit if it’s safe to reach.
- Drain the pipes. Open the cold taps and flush the toilets to empty what’s left in the system.
- Switch off the boiler and immersion so nothing heats with no water in it.
- Smell gas? Leave the property, don’t use switches, and call the National Gas Emergency Service on 0800 111 999 first.

No heating or hot water
Boiler lockouts, failed pumps, stuck diverter valves and frozen condensate pipes.
Overflowing cisterns
Fill valves stuck open and overflows pouring into the garden. Quick to sort once we’re there.
Leaking cylinders

Questions about emergency plumber
What counts as a plumbing emergency?
Water escaping that you can’t stop, water near electrics, no heating in cold weather, no water at all, or a toilet that’s the only one in the house and won’t flush. If you’re not sure, ring and we’ll tell you honestly whether it can wait until morning.
Do you charge more at night?
Out-of-hours call-outs cost more than daytime work. We tell you the price on the phone before we set off, so there are no surprises.
My boiler has lost pressure. Is that an emergency?
Not usually. Most boilers can be repressurised with the filling loop. If the pressure keeps dropping, or water is coming from the boiler or the pipe outside, call us.
I can smell gas. Should I call you?
Call the National Gas Emergency Service on 0800 111 999 first and leave the property. Once the supply is made safe, we can carry out the repair.
